Staked High Stool - Beech

An original take on a familiar shape. This all-wood Staked High Stool blends traditional joinery techniques with a modern silhouette for a stable and stylish piece that just works as a stool around the home: the kitchen, the office, the bedroom or the bathroom. 
 
Made entirely with sustainably sourced timber. Hand-tapered octagonal Beech legs splay from a tactile rounded Beech seat. The stretchers and legs are joined with hand-bored mortice and tenon joints and a 'H' shaped support which doubles as a footrest. These joints are secured with wooden wedges and glue in a Medieval technique that is still used today for its strength and simplicity.

Every piece is handmade to order in our Newcastle workshop, the tone and grain of the timber will vary with each piece. Allow a 3-6 week lead time.
